St. Vincent’s
Originally founded as an orphanage in 1853 following a cholera epidemic, St. Vincent’s School for Boys currently serves as a licensed Residential Group Home dedicated exclusively to therapeutic and compassionate care of traumatized boys. St. Vincent’s houses up to 20
boys at one time (ages 7-18) for short-term stays of approximately 6 weeks, with
the goal of family sponsorship. The historic 770-acre campus in Marin County offers a bucolic,
safe, and peaceful setting. The youth are provided with educational opportunities, meals, a home-
like setting, legal services, case management, recreational activities, and medical and therapeutic
services. St. Vincent’s is also the only residential program in Northern California offering
innovative equestrian therapy as a treatment modality. The program provides evidence-based
therapeutic interventions to foster healing and skill-building.
